ISNHS INTRAMURALS

     Here in Ilocos Sur National High School, we're always celebrating intramurals. Intramurals are recreational sports organized within a particular institution, usually an educational institution, or a set geographic area. The purpose of the Intramurals is to provide an opportunity for every student to participate in some type of competitive or leisure sports activity as regularly as his/her interest, ability, and time will permit. The rules and regulations which have been formulated for the activities take into consideration the necessary preparation, for each activity as well as the degree of skill of each participant. 
      Here in Ilocos Sur National High School, some mother clubs and organization inside our prepared different kinds of booth. Like Chem lock(TLEclub), Love in rinth(math club), movie booth, marriage booth and many more. The MAPEH teachers prepared many games, like volleyball, badminton, basketball, archery, sepak takraw and many more.
     There were many reasons why we celebrate intramurals or sportfest inside our school. It allow students to develop psychomotor skills and fine-tune motor skills with coordination, movement, strength, dexterity, grace, and speed, and also find healthy outlets for energy. It promote camaraderie and rapport among students, instructors, parents, and administration. In other words, sports build strong bonds within the community.It instill discipline among students. It provide a healthy pastime to help students refrain from various vices such as drugs, smoking, drinking, and spending excessive time on electronic devices. 
      Intramurals Are the Perfect Opportunity to Highlight Camaraderie, Sportsmanship, and Talent.

Science Month Celebration

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on Wednesday officially opened the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebration at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.The National S&T Week is being observed annually every September here in our school, Ilocos Sur National High School(ISNHS). This year, in the month of September, we're celebrating Science Month Celebration with the theme "Metabolize Nourishing the Filipino Youth towards National well-being". The Science and Yes-o Club officers of our school prepared different activities to celebrate the Science Month Celebration in the whole month of September.


      Every student in ISNHS is invited to join this celebration. G. at Bng. Kalikasan, essay writing contest, poster making contest, scie tricks, and science quiz are some of the activities that are prepared by the officers. Science impacts many aspects of our lives. Simply put, without it, we wouldn’t be enjoying many of the things that make our modern world possible. From the houses that we live in, the food that we eat, the cars that we drive, and to our favorite electronic gadgets, science and the technologies has spawned and makes us live easier.Enjoy the celebration!!!

Happy School Movement

     The Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” (HSM) to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos provinces. The movement aims to promote every schools in region 1 as a better school and makes school as an enjoyable place to study. Garma, DepEd Region 1 regional director, said the regional launch of the HSM was held at the Vigan Convention Center in this city on May 20, 2019. The HSM is anchored with the theme: “Paaralang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata’y Itaguyod.”

     According to DepEd Region 1 Regional Director Malcolm Garma, learners being the center of our educational system should be treated with tender love and care regardless of their status in life, gender, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds and mental and physical capabilities. Teachers should not only be suppliers of knowledge and information but also providers of comfort, warmth and love where children learn in a happy way and consider school as their home away from home.
     The movement aims to plant in the minds of pupils that school is not just a place for studying but also a place for fun and enjoyment as they enjoy what they are doing. HSM guided with four pillars such as responsive school leadership, relevant classroom instruction, conducive and healthy learning environment, and good governance.

     The Happy School Movement (HSM) has 15 advocacy themes in the delivery of education services to the 14 schools divisions in the Ilocos region.
Some of these advocacy themes are: “Start Right, Grow Smart” (Kidergarten); “Our Roots, Our Strength” (Mother Tongue); “Talas Filipino: Umusbong sa Wika at Panitikan” (Filipino); “Reading is Power” (English); “Solve for Life” (Mathematics); “Sa ALS Matututo Ka, Tara Na!” (Alternative Learning System); “Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility” (Disaster Risk Reduction and Management); “The Joy of Exploration and Innovation” (Science); “Kwento Mo, Kwento Ko sa Matatag na Bansa Tutungo” (Araling Panlipunan); “Ako, Ikaw, Siya Tungo sa Makabuluhang Buhay” (Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao); “Pride is the Power of Hands” (Technology and Livelihood Education); “I am In” (Inclusive Education); “HOPE CA” (MAPEH); “ICARE” (Learning Resource Management and Development (LRMD); and “Paghubog sa Kabataan, Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan!” (Youth Formation).
Keep in mind that our school children now will soon rule the future. Students will  become life-long learners, very much ready to conquer the world with happiness in their thoughts, words and actions.
     Let’s all cooperate in this movement. It’s more fun in school, no children will be left behind and what a wonderful world it will be!!

Vigan Solidarity Celebration

      Every year, in the month of September, Vigan City is celebrating World Heritage Cities Solidarity Day.In Vigan this special day is aimed at strengthening pride in the history and culture of Vigan. Vigan’s Spanish town environment has survived the test of time during World War 2. There were many activities conducted by the city government of Vigan for this celebration. You can start your Vigan heritage solidarity festivities with the Repazzo de Vigan. Repazzo de Vigan is a parade participated by all the 39 barangays in Vigan, including the students and member of non-governmental organizations. The participants shows the Biguenos’   way of life from Spanish time up to the period after WORLD war 2 while they walk through the designated parade route.
Next to this parade is the Historia Oral. This is a great opportunity for listeners to learn about Vigan’s history, culture, and day-to-day life. Members of senior citizen’s federation were choosen to share their experiences, knowledge, and love of their city through story telling. While the grade school students join the historical literary contest that is held in connection of the historia oral.

     If you’re craving for delicious foods, beautiful souvenirs from Vigan, you can freely visit the food trade located at the side of Vigan Convention Center. Visitors can also watch out for the Fotografias de Recuerdos, when photographs and paintings are exhibited at Vigan’s Culture and Trade Center. They can also watch the inter-barangay singing contest held at the Plaza Burgos. There were a lot of fun you can experience during this celebration. IT’S MORE FUN IN VIGAN.
