DEPRESSION

Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.

Don’t treat depression as a joke because depression is a serious condition. When you observed that someone you or someone you love has lost interest in work, hobbies, or everything he/she do and other pleasurable activities, immediately talk to her and comfort her. Also when someone you know frequently complains of aches and pains such as headaches, stomach problems, and back pain or complains of feeling tired and drained all the time.

But remember that being a compassionate listener is much more important than giving advice. You don’t have to try to “fix” your friend or family member; you just have to be a good listener. Often, the simple act of talking face to face can be an enormous help to someone suffering from depression. Encourage the depressed person to talk about their feelings, and be willing to listen without judgment.

Depressed people tend to withdraw from others and isolate themselves. You may need to express your concern and willingness to listen over and over again. Be gentle, yet persistent.

EPILOUGE

As months go by,encountering problems and challenges weren't new to me anymore.I'm already capable of addressing this problems and challenges every time it pushes me down. I feel grateful. why? because every time I face new problems and challenges, there is a new lesson waiting for me to learn. And I can proudly say that I learned all of this inside a classroom.
If 1st,2nd and 3rd Quarter was a challenge for me,this 4th quarter was more than a challenge. It was a hundred times better. I was capable of handling more difficulties. Thanks to my Teacher and my friends I learned how to conquer my weakness. Especially when we do various activities related to html tags. Html tags is my weakness to be honest.
But just like what they say, "There are no problems that can't be solved!". Through the support of my friends and the wisdom they gave me, I can say "ez" for a problem.

MY DREAM, MY FUTURE

https://images.app.goo.gl/raXvh4YP8rrLWgjWA
All of us have our own dreams. I have dreams just like everyone else.I want to have a good life, and tons of money to buy the things I need and what makes me happy. I will do whatever it takes to achieve it.

I dreamed to become a Certified Public Accountant. I know that being a CPA is not that easy but I'll strive harder in order to achieve my dream cause I want to pay the sacrifices and love of my parents. The time, money and care they spent to educate their child. That is something to be paid off.

As you can see I have big plans for the future. I have a great fear on failure, and I wont let it get to me.I'll never give up even if the world is against me. My dreams are the ones that keeps me going. I'll make it to the stars through hardships.

ISNHS FOUNDATION DAY

https://images.app.goo.gl/oRz3ujp54VWuVQAw7
Every year, school and universities celebrate their foundation days to commemorate the day when the school was established. They say that School Foundation Day is a very much awaited event by far and this is usually done in order to accommodate various activities such as field demonstration, speeches of school authorities, enumerating school accomplishments, goals and plans for the upcoming years. It is indeed crucial since student now a days don't appreciate their schools founder and history.

On March 1, 2020, our school Ilocos Sur National High School will celebrate it's 118th Foundation Day. This event is not yet started, but there are a lot of memories made with my classmates and friends when we are ask to practice our field demonstration. It was indeed tiring but it was worth it.

We may not be the best dancer in performing our field demonstration-which is considered as the highlighted activity, but we performed as much as we can and did our very best.
Furthermore, commemorating the Foundation Day is significant since it is the chance to remind the students about the humble beginnings of their educational institution.

KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL 2020

https://images.app.goo.gl/2TkrKgCGid9SrjSZ8

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. The locals conceived Kannawidan festival to show and share their treasures to the whole world that highlights these cultural traditions.

It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province. On the opening day, there is usually a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. It is followed by a procession of the Patron Saints of the 40 parishes and images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around the city. It is the Ilocanos' way of giving thanks to the Almighty not only for the bountiful blessings but also for the rich heritage of the city, including the close family ties among the Ilocanos. This event showcases the deep-rooted religiosity of the townsfolk.

The other reason why Kannawidan is conducted is to pay more attention to the children. It is because of the observation that many traditions, songs, dances, and other Ilocano culture are not recognized by the younger generations of the province. Instead, children are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they see television than the traditional ones.

CHANGE STARTS WITH OURSELVES

https://images.app.goo.gl/RCiLkzCdhoBJ8dDS6
Change happens whether we like it or not and regardless of whether we do anything about it. Tomorrow will be different than today. We can resist, but that is a bit like standing in a river and trying to hold back the water.

We can lead change and make our world a better place if we start with ourselves. Learning to become a better spouse, parent, businessperson, leader, salesperson, philanthropist, coach and volunteer will enable me to contribute more to my family, my community, and my industry. By inviting positive change into my life, by initiating change, I might be able to positively influence others.

We must all change the way we think and act. Nothing changes if you change nothing

HAPPY FIESTA VIVA VIGAN!!!

https://images.app.goo.gl/PyAELy7jHDqwF13f8
The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint. Biguenos from all over the country and even abroad return to Vigan, as it is the custom of Filipinos to return to their hometown to join their family and friends in the celebration of their fiesta. They are joined by thousands of visitors from other parts of the Philippines and other countries in enjoying the cultural shows, parades and street dancing prepared by the local government with the help of the local industries and communities. There are also food fairs, arts and crafts exhibits, as well as a visiting carnival. Within the Vigan City Fiesta days, the Longganisa Festival is also celebrated.

The city has a longganisa-themed parade and at one time attempted to set a record for having the longest longganisa ever made. The festival has become a crowd-drawer as Vigan longganisa, a native version of Mexican salami, has a distinct garlicky taste that has become a favorite of the Filipino palate. Though other manufacturers have tried to copy the Vigan longganisa taste, they have not been successful.

Biguenos attribute this to the fact that the making of Vigan longganisa is a centuries-old tradition of the local makers and all if not most of the ingredients used in making the native sausage is sourced from Vigan. Vigan’s garlic and sugarcane vinegar are said to be more strongly flavorful. It’s a great take-home gift after partaking in a Vigan City Fiesta.

NEW YEAR, NEW CHALLENGES

https://images.app.goo.gl/d5cyKnY2GyVbrtfB6
Goodbye 2019 and hello 2020. All the events that took place into my life in the year 2012 are now just memories, whether it was good or bad, happy or sad. Every ending that I have experienced in my life was because something better was coming. If my life had never been full with endings and changes, everything that I have experienced in my life would have never happened. I am where I am now because something in my past have changed and made me this way. Something that has ended in my past has allowed me to have new opportunities and challenges in my life, and the outcomes I got were always positive.

In my case many things have ended: relationships, friendships, and those endings had led me to the place I am now. Every single new opportunity and new challenge that I have experienced was possible because an ending had taken place in my past. In those moments when something ends, it is very difficult to see a new beginning. For instance, when a relationship ends, we normally do not see that as a new beginning or as a new opportunity, we see that as a painful ending, and the sorrow and frustration we feel in our hearts in those cases consume our spirit, making it impossible for us to see that as new beginning.

Every ending is always a new beginning. When something ends, something new begins and a new beginning is always a new opportunity. Learning to see the end of something as an opportunity rather than a punishment would help to change our whole life experience in the moment when we begin a new chapter in our lives.

May the year 2020 bring us fresh start, new aspirations, and inspiring successes. Walk with grace and achieve greater heights.

REFLECTION

https://images.app.goo.gl/UpopUoetrGv6bhT27
Memories that will never be forgotten. I tried things I never did before. I learned different things. I considered learning as my new favorite thing to do.
During my third quarter in our subject ICT, I learned how to make my own website. I learned the different parts of the Microsoft Front Page. Working in Microsoft Front Page is much easier than working on Notepad. It was very tiring and disgusting when it comes to editing web pages. But somehow, I realized that learning how to edit add hyperlinks and interactive buttons in my web pages is more fun than just adding html tags. I found the magic of microsoft frontpage by the use of interactive buttons and hyperlinks.I am very happy everytime I linked my web pages to one another. But of course, making blogs is not forgotten. We continue making our blogs. Those lessons helped me a lot in improving myself.
Studying is not all about encountering interesting things. I also encountered a lot of struggles or challenges that made me a stronger one. Too many school work is very stressing.
I address this challenges by the help of my parents, teachers, some classmates, some friends, enemies, and specially by the help of God. Without them, I don't know how weak I am right now. Without them, I don’t know if I were able to passed this challenges.
Moving on, I will do my best in order to overcome those challenges. I will consider those challenges as part of growing and improving myself to be the best and to be lifted up despite the people who's trying to put me down. I consider those people as my inspiration to fight everyday and face the world boldly.

A SAVIOUR WAS BORN

https://images.app.goo.gl/eGkY3JoUGRK2S8YU9

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. A time for us to understand the lessons from Jesus & reflect on them. In today’s day and time, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Amidst the delicious meals, sweet drinks, lovely songs & dances, beautiful friends & family members we would come across this season, let’s try not to forget about the child, who was born on a night cold winter, whose bed was made only of hay & animal food; our lord Jesus Christ, who taught us all what real, genuine & unconditional love is. As we celebrate the birth of our saviour, let’s be kind enough to remember & show some love to those motherless babies, helpless orphans, hospital patients, prisoners, beggars & all those who are not fortunate enough to be actively involved in the celebration of the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
And if we are to celebrate Christmas, we have to celebrate it with our loving presence instead of feasting. What great joy it would be if we come together as family and share that loving presence with each other even without the partying. What great joy there is if we also celebrate Christmas that same loving presence together with a sick or a hungry neighbor. Or what about spending Christmas with those who are abandoned by their loved ones? In the words of Mother Teresa, “Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.”
God does not expect us to do great things this Christmas. We only need to do things with great love. Finally, this Christmas, may we contemplate God’s humility in Jesus, his divinity hidden beneath the poverty of a the Holy Infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger; the Master and Creator of the universe reduced to the helplessness of a child. Once we accept this paradox, may we discover the truth behind it and that truth is His Love. The First Noel, the Savior becomes one of us, our companion along the trying times. May we all take his hand which he stretches out to us: a hand which seeks to take nothing from us, but only to give.

EQUALITY IS NOT A PRIVILAGE, BUT A HUMAN RIGHT

https://images.app.goo.gl/hr78HYM8PVCrZstv6

Gender and development is an interdisciplinary field of research and applied study that implements a feminist approach to understanding and addressing the disparate impact that economic development and globalization have on people based upon their location, gender, class background, and other socio-political identities. A strictly economic approach to development views a country's development in quantitative terms such as job creation, inflation control, and high employment – all of which aim to improve the ‘economic wellbeing’ of a country and the subsequent quality of life for its people. In terms of economic development, quality of life is defined as access to necessary rights and resources including but not limited to quality education, medical facilities, affordable housing, clean environments, and low crime rate.
Gender and development considers many of these same factors; however, gender and development emphasizes efforts towards understanding how multifaceted these issues are in the entangled context of culture, government, and globalization. Accounting for this need, gender and development implements ethnographic research, research that studies a specific culture or group of people by physically immersing the researcher into the environment and daily routine of those being studied, in order to comprehensively understand how development policy and practices affect the everyday life of targeted groups or areas.
Women in Development, Gender and Development, Women and Development, The Human Rights and Gender, Environment and Development paradigms have shaped the course of development literature by taking into account both women 's and men’s involvement with and in development. These five central perspectives have attempted to deconstruct gender bias in the economic, the social and the political sphere in order to show how development affects women and men in the global south. In the 1970s, WID came into use after Ester Boserup recognized that women had been excluded from economic development, resulting in them being more disadvantaged than men.

WORLD TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2019

https://teachersdayquotes2019.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/world-teachers-day-2019-theme-1.gif
Every year in the month of October, we are celebrating the World's Teachers Day. On this month, let us take this opportunity to convey our wishes, pay respect and thank our teachers who have given flawless contribution in shaping us. Teacher's Teachers are the backbone of our society, they lead the change by shaping and building our personalities and make us ideal citizens of our society.

Here in Ilocos Sure National High School (ISNHS), we celebrated teacher's day in many ways. The SSG Club conducted a Concert for a cause for the teachers to enjoy and relax. I have seen that the teachers were very happy at that time. But before that program, every section has their own strategy on how to make their own adviser and subject teachers happy and how to make this day a very special day and unforgettable day to the teachers. We gave different gifts, cakes, flowers, and balloons to our teachers. It is good to honor the gifted souls who offer their lives in working everyday just to make sure that our future is bright.

The light of the world, the beacon of the dark and the hope that gives us strength is no other than our teachers. HAPPY TEACHERS DAY TO ALL TEACHERS IN THE WORLD.

Happy School Movement

https://images.app.goo.gl/x6x3E5G5nY2ySCKX9
The Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” (HSM) to boost the efficient implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum in the Ilocos provinces. The movement aims to promote every schools in region 1 as a better school and makes school as an enjoyable place to study. Garma, DepEd Region 1 regional director, said the regional launch of the HSM was held at the Vigan Convention Center in this city on May 20, 2019. The HSM is anchored with the theme: “Paaralang Masayang Maglingkod, Tagumpay ng Bata’y Itaguyod.”

According to DepEd Region 1 Regional Director Malcolm Garma, learners being the center of our educational system should be treated with tender love and care regardless of their status in life, gender, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds and mental and physical capabilities. Teachers should not only be suppliers of knowledge and information but also providers of comfort, warmth and love where children learn in a happy way and consider school as their home away from home.
The movement aims to plant in the minds of pupils that school is not just a place for studying but also a place for fun and enjoyment as they enjoy what they are doing. HSM guided with four pillars such as responsive school leadership, relevant classroom instruction, conducive and healthy learning environment, and good governance.

The Happy School Movement (HSM) has 15 advocacy themes in the delivery of education services to the 14 schools divisions in the Ilocos region.
Some of these advocacy themes are: “Start Right, Grow Smart” (Kidergarten); “Our Roots, Our Strength” (Mother Tongue); “Talas Filipino: Umusbong sa Wika at Panitikan” (Filipino); “Reading is Power” (English); “Solve for Life” (Mathematics); “Sa ALS Matututo Ka, Tara Na!” (Alternative Learning System); “Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility” (Disaster Risk Reduction and Management); “The Joy of Exploration and Innovation” (Science); “Kwento Mo, Kwento Ko sa Matatag na Bansa Tutungo” (Araling Panlipunan); “Ako, Ikaw, Siya Tungo sa Makabuluhang Buhay” (Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao); “Pride is the Power of Hands” (Technology and Livelihood Education); “I am In” (Inclusive Education); “HOPE CA” (MAPEH); “ICARE” (Learning Resource Management and Development (LRMD); and “Paghubog sa Kabataan, Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan!” (Youth Formation).
Keep in mind that our school children now will soon rule the future. Students will  become life-long learners, very much ready to conquer the world with happiness in their thoughts, words and actions.
Let’s all cooperate in this movement. It’s more fun in school, no children will be left behind and what a wonderful world it will be!!

DEPRESSION

Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately...
